Pediatrician said that there was a slight trace of blood in my son's urine (only seen by a microscope) and he was going to take an ultra-sound to be sure, but he said he thinks nothing is wrong b/c my son isn't sick. Could this be dangerous or even fatal? or am i over reacting as a new mom? Anyone else's kids have this?

If it was just a bladder infection couldn't they just take a urine culture which they already mustve done to find the blood?

Baby's and children bring out the very best and the very worst in us. A few blood cells in the urine of an adult is normal. In a small baby it could be any of a number of things. It's just a signal to check things out and make sure there's not something going on in his kidneys. If they put a bag on him it could still be a little irritation on the end of his penis. If they put a catheter in it could be from trauma (otherwise known as irritation to the urethral wall) Don't worry yet. There are many things that this could be none of which are fatal or bad. Hang in there Mom. Ultrasounds aren't painful and will give you peace of mind.

ok, the 1st undertaking i might do is commence your son ingesting cranberry juice (helps neutralize any bacteria that is modern-day) and in the experience that your well being care expert despatched the urine to the lab wait the few days for the outcomes....that's an infection. if he didnt order greater exams to be executed on the urine then bypass to a diverse well being care expert. The lab i artwork at here in ontario, if the chemstrip says any volume of blood modern-day interior the urine gets a fashion of existence began good away. it extremely is ok to furnish cranberry juice to toddlers you basically could combine it one million/2 and one million/2 with distilled water, I even have had huge scientific training (canadian scientific training wherein standards are very extreme) and that i'm a mom. I do agree tho the solutions here could be taken gently. stable luck and that i'm hoping this helped

If it's only a microscopic trace, I wouldn't worry. But I would start giving him some purified water daily, to flush out his bladder. He'll probably like it. I pray for the little ones. They're precious. I hope he will be fine. Sounds like you are a great mom. Congrats.
