how would a reaction be effected if a student was past the endpoint of a titration when he took the final buret reading

basically, it is asking if reading the buret after the endpoint would change the mass percentage of cl- in the reaction, and why

The Reading would be Rendered Inaccurate, and the Process would have to be Repeated.If the Number of Drops are Counted and Stopped when the Color Change Occurs, then Multiplied by a Number, usually 10 or 20 , then the Correct Sum is Obtained. I Work at a Power Plant, and We take Daily Readings on the Treated Water from Our Boilers to determine what Level of Chemicals to Add for Optimal Safe Operation.

It depends on what your titrating for. Your measurement on the buret would be low because you used too much titrant.
