My son was about 8 months old when he first said Dada, Most babies will say dada first because it easier to babble this. A few weeks later he said Mama!!

My son said mama by 7 months. But not sure if he actually associates that with me or if he's just making the sound.

Wow this has really made me think... I myself didn't start talking till I was three, although I feel I have made up for loss time ,(I love to talk) I can't help but wonder then, is there something wrong with me? By the way my first word was "car".

she was 5or 6 months. If your child isn't speaking yet speak to them like an adult no baby talk.My 2 year old can have a full conversation with anyone.
