death penalty...no fuss no muss....
child molesters do not rehabilitate, child molesters re-offend....why waste tax payer money keeping them incarcerated or paying for THEIR counseling? Death penalty....safest most cost effective way to deal with sex offenders.

It depends. In some (not all cases), some of the "molesters" are actually falsely accused by a child. However, in the vast majority of cases, the perpetrator is actually a criminal. In those cases, I would recommend a year or two in prison, followed by another 3 or so years in a psychiatric institution. Upon release, the offender should have to register every week with their local police station. They should be prohibited from living within a certain radius of schools, playgrounds and parks. They should also be prohibited from being alone with minors. Harsh, yes, but so is the crime. It can radically change a child's development and impact them in many ways in the future.

First he/she needs some jail time. After that he/she definitely needs some psychological counseling and that kind of stuff. He/she should not be released from counseling until they have shown some kind of improvement. After their psychological analysis is complete they should be prompted to a follow up visit every 3 months. Lastly, they should be made to stay a certain distance from schools, parks, or anywhere innocent children are located. (Remember child-molesters are people too, I hate them, but everyone can change.)

Questioner: Could you please clarify the question. Do you mean men or women older than 18 who molest children (say 12 years and younger) or do you mean 18 year olds who have sex with their 15-17 year old girlfriends? In some states, they're both considered child molesters. Please clarify! Semantics are important, especially with such an emotional issue!

I think jail time, most definetly, a full sentence without parol, counciling and help from professionals, and the public needs to be notified that the person is a child molester.

If he's a pedophile, cut his nuts off, on National TV at 8PM.
They could make it a new reality show...
They can call it America's Most UnWanted...
If the other pedophiles see it happen a few times, maybe they will get the idea.

I don't know. That sort of thing is so awful.

I have to say, at the risk of sounding terrible, that we can't strip away too many rights or else the same thing might happen in another area of the law thats *not* something we instinctivly know to be wrong and horrific.
