No one is preventing them from running. The Democratic party will elect who they deem the most viable candidate to be placed on the ticket. Democrats call Republicans racist because that's about the only thing they're good at - mudslinging. It's just one of many names they have for Republicans.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are too far to the right to appeal to the majority of voters. It has nothing to do with them being black.

Funny the repubes are calling the Dems racist. When was the last time a black citizen was even a Presidential nominee for the republican party? Hmmm??? Don't listen to Hannity and Colmes. It will rot your brain.

Please do yourself a favor and do not watch Hannity and Colmes unless you are looking for liars to lie to you, you want to hear the lies that the Bush Adm. want you too, you do not wish to find out facts for yourself and like being a sheep that's told what to believe. Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch and his political views are reflected in his newscasters/pundits and lack non-biased journalistic opinions. Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton can run for president if they wish. Jesse Jackson has run for president--get informed. Racism has nothing to do with which candidate will give a political party it's best chance to win an office. Are the Republicans racist because they won't let Colin Powell run for President? Same answer--no

Your question is totally wrong. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton HAVE run for President. As did Carol Mosely Braun, Shirley Chisolm and Doug Wilder. Unfortunately, they did not get enough votes to win the nomination. How many African Americans have even considered running for the nomination in the Republican Party?

Jesse Jackson ran in 1984 and 1988. Al Sharpton ran in 2004. So Sean Hannity lied to you. And let me tell you something---he's lied to you a lot more than that.

this is going to sound like taking factors slightly, and that i ask for forgiveness if that looks the case; yet what i've got suggested isn't precisely what you have defined. i think of the Republican occasion isn't completely made-up of racists. They characterize an unestimable share, although. purely with the aid of fact the Republican occasion does no longer consist completely of non secular fundamentalists who define each international journey alongside with each presidential election as evidence of the advent of the anti-Christ or a return of the Lord. back, what number, undefined. the undertaking, as I see it, isn't that the Republican occasion is entrely one element or yet another, of course that is not. the undertaking is that there are no reasonable voices interior the Republican occasion who will stand-up and contact those issues what they are. to the different, the occasion and its strategists like Rove and Pearle, and its maximum vocal supporters like Beck, Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, etc., unquestionably bait those communities or on the least inspire and enable them for political benefit. that is not that the Republican occasion is totally racist. that is absurd. the undertaking is that at a time while the rustic needs to enhance-up and promptly circulate forward on a type of financial, family participants and international agendas, there are no grown-united statesleft on the Republican facet of the aisle. The Democratic occasion, on the different hand, being a extra inclusive occasion, has a type of perspectives from extremely liberal to blue canines conservative, and in many situations disagree with one yet another. that is purely that Democrats often push the controversy on arguments of situation-appropriate substance fairly than comparisons to Hitler, devil, Karl Marx and the leaders of Communist international places. i think of that is fairly a distinction.

Hannity & Colmes you say. Maybe you should look somewhere else. Did the Dems who stated this say it was because of their color? If not then how is it racist?

No, they wont let those people run for president because they are completely and totally idiotic. if a viable black candidate were to present itself both parties would accept them. There will be a black candidate eventually but Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are not it.

Jesse Jackson tried to get the nomination in 1984. He made some comments about Jews that ruined his political career.
