Your homepage will not be affected by the new beta version. Your favorites will not changed but it is not reliable. A Beta version of any software is a test running software that is still being developed so it might mess up your computer and make it run slower. I'd would just stick with Internet Explorer and if I needed a better browser, I'd get Firefox or something of that nature!!! If you do upgrade, you should meet the system requirements and try to stay updated with your system.

Upgrade now! IE 6 is a loser. IE7 is way better. It will keep your toolbars, your favorites, everything. You are going to have 2 google search boxes though, IE 7 has one built in, except IE 7's you can make it search just about any search engine you want, even wikipedia and ebay.
The new security is roock solid, I can go a week, run three different spyware scanners and all of them find virtually nothing except the occasional tracking cookie.
Only downside, the stop, home, refresh buttons are in weird places, scattered all over the toolbar and takes some getting used to, and no you can't move them.
All in all, download it today!
Btw, I like how all the firefox zombies come in here bashing it after trying it for ten minutes and uninstalling it.Hey dummies, you can have more than one browser on your system. I have IE 7, as my default, firefox, and opera 9 (which is way better than firefox, and is the one the OTHER TWO copies!)

Becareful if you upgrade to i.e. 7. I've tried, and was not very impressed. For instance it installs a folder in C:\documents and settings\your name\local settings\tempo internet files\
called anti phsihing (the only problem is) it makes it a total pain if you want to delete your complete temp internet files history (example: you have a virus). You'll have to adjust the permissions on the folder in order to delete it.
Other than that, I found that it broke a lot of online apps that I use (java based apps, with different security settings).
Just a word to the wise, always becareful when using any beta.

IE7 is worser than IE6. It still has bugs, and ofcourse is least secure and slower. Try Mozilla Firefox latest (1.5.0.7) It's faster, more secure and reliable browser. I don't think Google customised page orbookmarks will be affected. But IE is junk. Try Firefox, u won't regret it.

You'll keep all your settings, so don't worry about it.
However, I've installed it and I can tell you that you're not missing much. Actually, personnaly, I don't like the new interface. No menus, just this wierd task bar under the address field...
If you're hesitating, stick with version 6, unless it really has a feature that you need.

The Google page are settings recorded at Google, not on your computer.
Go ahead and upgrade!
Although I would suggest you download Firefox and stay away from Internet Explorer...

Adobe Version Cue CS2 won't download updates anymore. That was my main problem, so I had to go back to explorer 6.
