I didn't go to kindergarten.
Thats probably the reason why I cried like a baby my first day of first grade.
Horrible!

I sure do. I remember the first day of each of my school years because that's the day I first met most of my friends and my teachers. I can even remember what I wore each year! I just remember feeling very grown-up because I was the youngest in the family and couldn't wait to go to school like my brothers and sister. I was kind of disappointed in kindergarten, though, because I already knew everything they were trying to teach me.

I remember my mom and dad walking me to school and I tried to get away or stop walking so they had to start holding on to me and carrying me. I don't really remember the actual class that day but I remember some things I experienced during Kindergarten.

never went to kindergarten but my first day of 1st grade ended with me running down the sidewalk toward my mom's car. At the end I tripped and fell into a huge mud puddle. My Mom doesn't remember it but I do as if it was yesterday. And that was 35+ years ago. Great question....

I can sort of remember it. I recall visiting my school a couple of days BEFORE the first day of school. The principal, Mr. Wilson was helping the teacher, a young woman named Mrs Eckdahl. She was flitting around the room when Mr. Wilson asked where he should put a box of books. She replied "Put them where the books belong!" He looked around the room, and asked, "But where do the go?"

This exchange went on a bit longer, and she finally pointed to a small shelf.

The teacher was a dingbat! My first ever teacher was flighty and not very bright.

Yes, I ran way from my mum to play with the other kids. Then I couldn't find her and I was sad :(

But then she came to say goodbye to me! And after that I was so happy, I painted a panda bear on a clear plastic easel, and we read "the very hungry caterpillar".... don't ask me how I can remember this! But all in all, a really lovely memory :)

Yes I do. My elementary school was only 6 houses from where I lived. At least I got to come home for lunch instead of eating nasty cafeteria food and watch some tv!

I remember the evening before being worried about it. But I don't remember the actual day.
