Fur Elise is my favorite classical piece of music of all time. It's one of my favorites to play on my keyboard. I especially like how Nas sampled it in "I Can." He gave the classical piece a hip hop spin. Back in 2001, Alicia Keys came along and sampled it for "Fallen."

I agree that Moonlight Sonata is more haunting. But Fur Elise is a beautiful song that I love to play everytime I sit down to the piano. It is a song that was written for a love of his.

I prefer the Moonlight Sonata - I think that one is more haunting. However, there is something to the idea that he wrote "Fur Elise" for someone he loved. And it is very beautiful.

to me it's haunting, beautiful, timeless and, because McDonald's used it in a commercial years ago, it makes me crave french fries.

I agree with you. I couldn't have put it any better than you. Haunting, beautiful, timeless and I'll add one more thing. It is memories of things before............angels, soft singing voice, sadness, lonely, love & emails of days gone by and missed profoundly...................

It is really nice, especially those little pauses at the end of the really high notes.
