ok r&b "groups" aren't BANDS...pretty sure you have to play an instrament to be in a band...

The Roots. One of the few hip hop "bands" around. They did a song about four years ago called "You Got Me" featuring Jill Scott (writing) and Erykah Badu (vocals). Beautiful song and a beautiful video. The Roots are also great live.
P.S. - Destiny's Child and Danity Kane are not bands... just for the record.

Danity Kane - Danity Kane is an amazing group. I've loved them since Making the Band! They are all different girls who made on amazing group. I love every song that Danity Kane/Making the Band 3 songs we're ever made or sung by them. But my favorite songs of Danity Kane is Stay With Me, Want It, Showstopper & Right Now. Like I said I love all of DK's songs!
So Danity Kane is my favorite band!

For me, it would be The Rolling Stones. My favorite song by them is "Jumpin' Jack Flash " from 1968. As for the newer bands, I kind of like that trio from Australia (sorry, I can't recall their name) whose bass player also plays organ and clearly is influenced by Deep Purple's Jon Lord.
