It is very early for you to be having symptoms if you are pregnant. If your period is late by another week, I'd take another test, and go back to the doctor, there may be a medical reason for your symptoms that needs treated.

I'll bet anything you're pregnant. Pregnancy tests measure the amount of hormone in your urine. If a tests comes back positive, the pregnancy hormone is there. If your urine is diluted however, the hormone may be very weak. Therefor you may get a false negative. I had 4 false negatives until one came back positive. If the ones you took at the doctors office were later in the day or you had drank some water, the hormone was probably diluted. Take one first thing tomorrow morning with your first morning pee. God Bless It's not too early to have nausea and headaches either. I had them both at your stage with both pregnancies.
One more thing too.. I've never heard of a false positive. If a test is going to give a false result, it will be a false negative.

Well I guess.....i have to ask first....did the clinic take a blood test or a urine test. The difference being 100%. Sometime the home pregnancy tests can give you false possitives. If the clinic did a urine test you still have the problem of them being wrong, but if you had a blood test then 99% of the time they are correct. Maybe try going to a different doctor and demand a blood test. This same thing happened to me in my second pregnancy. It also depends on how far along you are because the hormone levels change the further along you are.

I think it might be all in your head! Pregnant women don't generally have heartburn until quite a bit farther along than 1 week. It is caused when the baby has gotten so large that it displaces part of the space normally occupied by your lungs and heart and puts pressure on the stomach- coupled with the hormones that naturally cause your muscles(including the esophagus)to relax to the point where you back up a bit. If you really are pregnant, drinking a glass of milk when it bugs you worked for me.

actually to the person that said false positives are more common than false negatives is wrong...
You are more likely to be pregnant and have a pregnancy test show that you aren't...
Than to not be pregnant and have a pregnancy test show that you are...
One of my coworkers took like 3 pregnancy tests..they were all negative, but she just KNEW she was pregnant..she went to the doctor and had two urine tests...BOTH negative...and then she got a blood test and found out she was preg...
You may not have enough of the pregnnacy hormone to be picked up yet...
Or like someone said..the symptoms could be in your head or related to another medical problem...But to have 2 positive tests at home and then a negative one at the doctors office (if that is in fact how it went) is kind of strange..
I would wait another week to give pregnancy hormone time to build in your system and then take another test..
Good Luck!!

false positives are common, but if you want to be sure go to the doctor and have your blood drawn for an blood HCG level. this will tell you if you are pregnant for sure!! However, you should not be showing signs and symptoms of pregnancy, at least not this early. It might be all in your head, sometimes when women stress, the normal time of menstruation is affected, and then delayed. You need to relax, wait another week or two and take another home pregnancy test if anything. I wish you luck, and if anything you might want to consider the use of contraceptives if you are not prepared for the consequences of having unprotected sex. . .

being late doesn't necessarily mean your are pregnant. If you went to the clinic and they tested you and the tests came back negative - you are probably NOT pregnant.
But if your symptoms continue for a couple more weeks - I would suggest you get to a gyno for them to figure out what is going on.
good luck.
BTW - don't listen to the people with the "don't sleep around" kind of answers BUT DO PRACTICE SAFE SEX!

The same thing happened to my sister. At the doctor's office, if you had a blood test, it is based on numbers. My sister was just pregnant and the test hadn't detected it yet. A few days after the doctor said it was negative, he called and said it was positive. I would go to another doctor if you can for a third opinion.

calm down, false positives are alot more common then false negatives. THat beign said, wait two weeks and take another home pregnancy test. If the syptoms contiue, consider that it could be stress, the flue, or a cold causeing it all, including the late period.
If you still show negative on a preggo test, but no period after two weeks, go see a doctor anyway. IT could be a medical condition that needs treated.
