As for the first part of your question, I would help a runaway slave in any way I could. The reason why I would help them is simple...slavery is JUST WRONG!

I would help a slave. Because it is wrong on so many levels to keep people as slaves.
I would help in any way I could. Giving food, water, money and some place to hide if needed.

i would do anything and everything to help them. i would hide them and make arrangements to get them out of the area, even take them myself. i would find a safe and decent place for them to live and provide any moneys for them to live a decent life....
