No,by putting more troops there will be more casualties of soldiers and civilians.Iraqi people will be more anger if the troops will be added to the existing. The better solution, all foreign troops should be pulled out of Iraq and let the people of Iraq solve their problems democraticly..The people of Iraq want their freedom and hate invasion. Most of the people of Iraq are muslims and muslimas and most of the invaders are christians. So they hate and anger to them. They will defend their country until the last drop of their bloods. They are ready to die because they know that
dead in maintaining their country will be a syahid die as a. martyr and they will get into heaven. They have a bigger spirits than the invadersThey attack the invaders by a hit and run tactics at any time..

No. We're already the occupiers. Putting more troops there isn't going to do a thing in the middle of a low level civil war. There's no way to win the strategic war in Iraq: the U.S. could win all the tactical battles it wants, but we will find out we've lost once we pull out. We upset the political balance of Iraq by deposing Sadaam Hussein, and now all the ugly sectarian animositites have come to bear. Adding more U.S. troops is just going to get more American soliders and Iraqi citizens killed. There's no easy way out. There's no way the U.S. is going to be able to leave with its head held high and a lasting peace, because we blew it. We never should have gone into the country in the first place. Were they clamoring for a Western style secular democracy? I don't think so, and neither is any of the other Middle Eastern and Near Eastern countries we are thinking of invading or changing (Afghanistan, Syria or Iran) We have no business in the Middle East. It's time we found alternatives to oil consumption.

Yes. One way or another. It might be the extra effort needed to win. Or it might lead to defeat a few ways. More troops, more targets, more casualties, more pressure to withdraw. If the size of the army is not increased, longer deployments to keep more troops in Iraq and more recruiting trouble. If the size of the army is increased at home, but the number of troops in Iraq stays the same, that would make it easier to stay longer.

The news today reported that there is only 150,000 men and women in Iraq. and there are a few Top Generals that feel it will take about another 100,000 to get the job done. I think it might be a little to late for that now it should have been 250,000 at the start of the war then I think we would be out of Iraq by now /now its just to late.

NO and its another pork barreling by the bush adminstiration. He's had over 5 years and billions of troop hours to do what Roosevelt, did in 4 years against the Nazi and Japanese war machines. Not to mention better techology than Roosevelt could ever imagine.

Yes. The troops can use all the help they can get. Certain services need more recruits.

No, it'll just get us stuck there longer, thats what we did with Koria and Vietnam and it didn't work. Only way we can get out of there faster is to drag their people in and train them properly and send them back to train more troops.

maybe... if they were used properly...
I think many of the generals have wanted more troops the whole time to try and secure the situation... it may be too late to bother now though...
it's a mess...

who knows? It didn't work that way in Vietnam and it did not work that way in Afghanistan for the Soviets. You are in so deep already that you need to decide in a big way how much to pay. You can fold your cards or raise. You think you have the cards to win or do you have the cash to buy the pot. They have raised the stakes again. And one of the other players just exposed the Osama wildcard.
