Does your boyfriend have insurance on his own car? His insurance would probably cover him while driving your car. Example; If you rent a car, your insurance usually covers you while driving that rental.
Typically auto insurance is purchased by the registered owner of the car, so your car is insured, the only dispute may be from the other party claiming that your boyfriend was not an authorized driver, but would they do that? They would just be "screwing " themselves if they did.
If as you have said, the other driver was at fault, remember that you do NOT have any business relationship with their insurance carrier. Any claim you have for damages is with the registered owner of the other car. Their insurance then indemnifies them against the claim. If it ever got to the point that you had to file a law suit, you would be suing the registered owner of the other car as the primary defendant, and the driver as the co-defendant.
Don't worry over this, as long as no one was hurt, the cars are just machines, they can be fixed.

Alright, before you freak out, there are several things to consider here.
First and foremost, who was sighted in the accident? If it was the other driver then her insurance will take over and pay for any damages to your car. And if she has liability, it will pay for any injuries to your boy friend.
Now, that being said, if he was sited in the accident then there are still several things that can happen. Look at your policy and see if it states that you are the only person covered driving the car. Some policies go with the car while others transfer with the insured person. If it plainly states that your boyfriend nor anyone else is covered there is still another option. Does your boyfriend have a car and is it insured? If so, then his insurance will cover the costs.
Anyway, everything will be alright and in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes.
Good Luck.

The law states that if an uninsured driver is driving your car upon your request, the insurance should cover him too. By your request I mean, "can you go to the store and get me this, you can use my car". As long as he has the authority, and, he is not going for his own personal use, he's covered. If you both live together, he's automatically covered, so is any other member of the same houshold.

Well if it was the ladies fault she would have to pay for damages but if it was your boyfriends fault it and you have just yourself covered and no second driver I think you may have a problem. call your insurance company and ask them if he is covered they will know

Contact your insurance anyway. Then contact the ladies insurance and let them figure out what happens. Hopefully it will be covered.

first tell your ins, about it then get a police report of the accident. a report needed to be made for an investigation to find out who was at fault.
yes you let him drive and you are responsible for the car and any damage it does. if it wasn't his fault your ins may not double.
