I think he was the front-runner, and a lot of the commentators and analysts on tv thought the same thing. He was on a roll, absolutely unhittable, with an ERA just above 2. His ERA was actually below 2.00, it went up his last couple of starts before he went on the DL the first time. I think he had a great shot, he began the year in the bullpen so he didn't have the wins, but he probably would have been around 180 innings with WELL over 200 strikeouts. I think he could have won at least 16 games. He was so overpowering, no one could touch him. Yeah, he would have been the choice. He was almost like a younger, lefthanded Pedro Martinez (in his prime).

Hard to say. If he kept up at his pace he would have been Rookie of the Year and possibly running for CY Young. Could of, Should of, Would of, Won't.

I'm a huge Twins fan but I don't think he started enough to be even a contender in the Cy Young award

For sure. His injury means he won't get it, but I think he is still at the top of the list for rookie of the year.
