My legs are extremely itchy but they aren't red or irritated until I scratch them. I have really bad allergies to everything including cats which I have one. I'm not sure If my itchy legs are related to my allergies or is it eczema? I've always taken really good care of my skin and always use lotion, that is why I can't seem to believe that it is eczema.

most people are born with the condition. I have it. Typically when I break out I will have a red rash, and my nephew does too. It can be caused by allergies, a change in weather, many things.....but in other instances, when my hands or feet break out, there will be no rash, just small bumps that you can feel, but barely see. I would suggest seeing a dermatologist fo a second opinion, but your doctor may be correct. I would suggest getting an oatmeal bath solution to help with the itching. Aveno makes packs you just add to your bath water, and lay in it for a while. It Will help with the itch.

Eczema is not caused from not taking care of your skin. Its just something your born with. Have you gone to a dermatologist or just a general doctor?
Eczema can look like a raised rash similar to psoriasis and it sometimes can look like tiny red dots. If you look on-line and search for pics it may help you more.

I don't think using lotion has anything to do with eczema. Most people that I know who have it was born with it.

Your doctor told you "it looked like..." What the hell kind of witch doctor were you visiting?

When I go to the doctor, I expect a definite answer. If he/she did not say "You have eczema," or something to that effect, don't pay the bill, because the doctor wasn't doing his/her job.

Good thing you came here to ask your question.
Doctors don't know anything about medical problems. I know for a fact that all that time in college is spent at parties.

In my expert opinion, you have Moon Pecker-roo.
Sorry, but there is no cure.

Your skin does not have to be red or irritaed before to have ecxema. It is also highly unlikely that your cat would cause such a reaction in your skin. It is possibly hereditary.
