How can one authenticate an object (glasses) purported to have belonged to Lenin?

First of all, it would depend on which Lenin you are referring to. There are four Lenin Sisters, you know: Diane, Peggy, Kathy and Janet. That's the place to start. They're still around as far as I know, so you might try to write to them and ask. Also, some PBS stations play re-runs of the old "Lawrence Welk Show," so you might want to watch those on the outside chance that one of them one day let her vanity slip and wore her glasses on the show. There are also some occasional tributes to the Welk show, on which some of the old-timers from the show perform. Since the Lenin Sisters are all old-timers now, they may have given up on vanity altogether, so you might see them wearing glasses, although obviously not the pair you have, but maybe something similar -- so this might assist you in narrowing down which Lenin, if any, owned your glasses. They were lovely girls and from what I recall from seeing them as old-timers, they still are -- for old-timers. Hope this helps. Fr. Monty.
