why can't i send attachments in my email?

when I ckick atachment it goes to the norton scan & just keeps running & doesn't ever quit

Uninstall Norton. You can also deactivate its integration to Outlook, so that it only scans your files and not your attachments (however, this is not recommended).

Try using another anti-virus such as Avast (free!): www.avast.com It's very nice!

try to disable norton scan
