When they play something that the bride specifically asked them not to play.
When they do embarrassing things to the bride and groom. Those are not fun for anybody but people who hate the bride and groom and want to see them humiliated.
When they try to take center stage instead of just playing music. The focus should not be on the DJ.
When they ignore the written directions to the country club and get lost, leaving a long period of time during which there was NO MUSIC at my reception!
Geeze, I could go on and on...... :) If you are a DJ, I'm sure you don't do any of these things.

First of all, stop playing "Celebrate good times, C'mon!" I, among other people, HATE that song! I have been to 9 weddings in the last year. All friends or family. That song was played at just about everyone. This song became a topic of discussion at 3 of the weddings with about 20 people involved and we decided it was one of the most overrated over played stupidest songs ever! At one of the receptions, the DJ threw props to the audience to use for the song. He through out hats for YMCA, and he had a limbo and something else. He had a balloon race for the kids and played some "Mac the Knife" for the older folks.

I had a DJ for my wedding and loved it! I told him what kind of music my friends and family were into and he did a great job! Everyone was happy. The thing that bothers me the most about DJ's though is that they insist on playing that idiotic song, "The Chicken Dance"!!!!!!!! I HATE THAT!!!!

DJ's annoy me when the music is so loud that no one can hear anything. They should verify with the family what type of music that they want played. I also like them to take requests. Two songs that I never want to hear again are the Electric Slide and Cha Cha Slide.

I dont like how they always play the same stuff at all weddings.

They will play the music too loud and they play songs that make you want to cringe. No more played out songs, please. Play some music that is nice to dance to, like "Pon de Replay" by Rihanna, "Again and Again" by Jewel, "Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim, music like that.

Stop playing the music so loudly that no one can have a conversation and their ears are ringing for days afterward.

They never seem to be able to sense the mood of the crowd and play music accordingly.
