I have cream carpet which is appearing worn and dirty in the highly trafficked areas. I scrub it with a cloth and warm water regularly but does anyone have a better solution ?

Oxy-clean? Or pull that carpet up.

Hire a carpet cleaner. The worst thing you can do is attempt to clean a carpet yourself. All you are doing by scrubbing it is putting more and more stuff in it, that you are not able to get out. No manuel carpet cleaner is as powerful as a carpet cleaning truck. You will see a huge difference if you have it done. It may not be possible to get all the stains out, but atleast you can feel confident the carpet is actually clean. Plus it costs just as much as you would spend in cleaning products. Don't pay more than $50 a room, assuming the room is not huge.

You have it cleaned, then u go to Lowes or another Home Improvement store and u ask 4 a Clear Hallway Vinyl Rug that comes in like 8-12 ft. lengths and put it down.

Spot Shot can do wonders. Spray it, let it set for a minute and scrub. I was amazed the first time I tried it, and that was 2 yrs. ago.
