Good question. I will turn 39 this week, and I have been asking myself the same question. I feel like my youth is over. You all are so encouraging, to the 28 year old. But I am 10 years older and I feel so old. I see woman in there 20's or even 30's and I am so depressed that I am almost 40. Its creepy, I never thought I would be 40. And I am confused as to how I should dress, I mean what do 40 year olds wear? I'm freakin'. I really feel old. Its terrible.

Mm Lucy good question! It depends on the individual! In my case, my mum kept telling them that the day i turned 20, i'd act like a grown up, then it was on my 30th birthday, then my 40th birthday ad now ... I'm 55 and still don't feel like a grown up! I do act as one when i have to to though but truth is ... I could easily switch to full blown 55 years old woman if i don't want to because!!! My body may well be 55 if my spirit is still that of a young girl! I find people who acted their age from 20 onwards prematurely grown old! So maybe you're like me ...

your only as old as the woman (or man) you feel!! Ha ha. Seriously your age shouldn't matter, its the way you act that matters, people believe that as you get older the amount of fun you have goes down and you get burdened with responsibilities and have to start thinking of the future. Well I have more fun, less responsibilities and think less about my future now than I did at 18 (I'm 25), at 18 I had a job, was at college, had to think what course I wanted to do at uni had no money and lived at home. Now yes I have a job, but I'm not stressed out by it, I have money, I live in my own flat (in oz) and just save a % of my income each month automatically.

Well, I just celebrated?? the big 65, and I certainly feel young..at least mentally. I will admit to a few aches and pains, but overall, .....young. So, prepare well for a very long life, and a very long time of being young. Take care of your skin and stay out of the sun! Good luck

As many as you want. youth is all in the mind. Some people are old at 20. Some are young at 80. Its all up to you.

how many years of being young do you think I have left? I'm 59 right now...and guess what..I'm in med school...doctor in training...still young, learning, and full of spit and vinegar but its more like a fine wine that has matured and become spectacular. YOu see, life is not always about being super hyoung in age its all in what you do with it. It can get better and better all the time if you problem solve your mistakes so you don't repeat them and think positive. But most of feel good...life is about feeling good....yes that's it! I'm young now and will be all my life...young with wisdom..that is where it really is..and having fun. I have fun..just look at my goofy avatar...I'm a witch and I'm wearing a cowboy hat (to confuse the fundies)

It depends on what you like doing and what friends you keep. If you enjoy clubbing then you're going to start feeling old pretty soon, seeing all those teenagers clubbing all the time, however if you take up Bowls or something like that you'll always be known as the young girl.. clever huh?

being "Young" - has nothing to do with age.
Being youthful is a mindset.
It lies in how you embrace life and making the best of every breath you take - living like there is no tomorrow.
Having said that - You have all the years ahead to be young.

If it's any consolation, Lucy, I'm 48 and still feel young. Don't look nearly my age, and REALLY don't feel it. I can get more done in a day than most people do in a week. You're as young as you feel.
