using logic and reason to study or figure something out, if you want to go further stuff like zoology is the study of animals and ecology is the study of the ecosystem. Science is not the study of everything that's just a common misunderstanding.

Science is the study of the way things behave in nature whether they be particles, organisms, etc. The goal of science is to understand the universe (and the things in it) in order to make predictions about behavior up to the limit that the uncertainty principle will allow.
