My best bet is maybe you should ask her without letting her know its you buying her a gift. Ask her "So what would you want to get for your birthday or Christmas?" HAve a casual conversation. You dont want to buy her something that she might not like and say she does like it just not to tell you the truth. Hope this helps.

Does it cost money to play Runescape? If so buy her a few months of playing time. Buy her some gift certificates to Amazon Books, or Walden Books, I like the iPod idea, they're great. My boys are getting their own for Christmas. Does she drive? How about a gift certificate for a car detailing, or buy her a new accessory for her car like seat covers, speakers, window tinting etc. Or how about you just give her $200 cold hard cash and say Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday whatever? That way she can get what she wants. Just a thought. Good luck.

get her one of those visa giftcards. she can use the money anywhere, and its much better than just getting her cash... its kind of like a debit card, without the bank account. she can even refill it for later use. I know they sell them at safeway, if you have one in your area. im sure they sell them at other stores too. good luck! also as someone mentioned before, you shouldnt spend ALL of your money on a gift for her. sure its great to get $200, or something expensive, but she will be happy with less. usually when I get big gifts like that, I dont accept them because I would feel bad if someone ever spent that much money on me.

iPod is a great idea.
As for books, Wicked is a fantastic book (a bit adult content in there, so it's up to you and her parents if she's ready for it...but still a great read!)
