That's a very good question. I've wondered that myself. My guess is that there are more people out there just playing the game than actually giving thought to answering the questions. They go for the stupid questions because they can respond with short, stupid answers and get their 2 points.

Because with a stupid question you can give short stupid answers. With serious questions people usually have to explain. This means they type more, read more, think more, realize more. Different minds, different types of entertainment. Someone may be thinking it's fun to ask about a dog's butt and there are others who think it's fun to debate, learn, and teach. That's life. The sad thing to me on yahoo answers is that you see MORE stupidity then anything else. Kind of makes you think about the fate of the world doesn't it.

The "good" questions take some brains and some for-thought to answer. A lot of people only seen interested in getting points and being silly.

Because a lot of people don't know the answers to the hard ones and move on to an easier question.

Because it is easy to win points with no effort but if it is a difficult question, you may have to go search the web for help and they do not want to take the time.
