I think women have lost some respect because they are to easy and ready to jump into bed. I'm sorry but after reading some questions on this site by young women wanting to know when should they sleep with a guy first date or second tells me a lot. When women hold to a higher standard they get paid and treated better. When you act and dress like a loose women you will get treated like a loose women. Man am I going to get e-mail over this answer. I might as well change my e-mail address real fast.

Boy there are some real misogynist whiners on this question.
I think that women still have a long way to go. When we make what men make and when men stop using women's bodies as "things", we will be on the path to equality.
With violent porn, and also porn that doesn't teach men where the clit is, high rape statistics....how can that be equal?
How can we have equality when we don't get paid the same for the same job?
How can we have equality when men go to places like Thailand to use women's and children's bodies to orgasm into and think that's "ok" and yet not want us to have the option of EC? And get away with it?
There are still many changes that have to be made. A long way to go.

Women have lost the respect of men because they do not give respect to men. They want to be like men, but when treated like men, they squeal like little girls.
And where do you get your statistics? If you are going to make a statement like the one you site about earnings, then back it up or shut up. I am tired of hearing the whining from women's groups, from black groups, from Hispanic groups, and from every other cry baby out there that blames everything on men of THE OTHER COLOR, or just men in general.
Yes, I am a white MAN! And I have given up almost every bit of my dignity and rights to one faction or another and I am sick of it! And I will make this statement... if you can do the same job, you DESERVE the same pay! But from what I have heard in the media lately, women actually come out better in most situations because no one wants the courts involved. And if you are being cheated personally, GET A LAWYER! If you a female, get a female lawyer. They seem to think they have something to prove.
If you are a lawyer, represent yourself and stop whining!

No, I don't think so. Sexism still exists in the work place, but women have made progress closing the gap on wages. I still think it is difficult for women move up in a company, because of the attitudes held by males, who are the dominate figures in most companies. I'm not male bashing, I just think it's culture thing. I think women will continue to progress in the United States, as more and more are promoted or elected/appointed to governmental positions.

PS The same goes for minorities. It's a slow process, though!

I dont want to be a man. I dont want to be better than a man. I want to be a woman, but I want equal voice as a man.
We did ourselves a huge injustice during womens lib. Womens rights was great, gave us a voice, rights, made us human, politically able.
Womens lib did nothing but some how make it so my natural God given skills dont count and arent as equal to a mans different kind of God given skills.
I dont appreciate the fact that I cant stay at home, keep a house, raise a family and tend to my husband and be considered a whole person. Iam considered to be 'second rate' or 'not the best' because all those damn professional women burn themselves out in high profile power jobs, while their home lives suffer (but not by apearance, cause surely everything looks perfect), and their marriages go stale, and your careers boom. mean while everyone thinks theyve got it all put together.
If i wanted to be a man I would trade in my womb for some balls and a power suit. Theres no respect for women who are true women anymore. Wheres my equal rights to the shemans?
BUT, it is wrong for a woman to succeed at a job and have to take a pay cut because she's a woman.

Frogie's right.
Women nowadays are much more sexual that the past. It's an evolution of types. I don't pre-judge women and wouldn't give a woman less for being a woman... but women who call themselves feminists or are for their rights but wear those short-*** skirts and such... just don't get it.
I know more extremely sexual women than men. Maybe it's just wear I live... maybe not.
I'm still straight and I still am looking for an intelligent woman.... I'm just sad that they're getting harder to find.

That's probably only a national average, compared to the thousands more than men make, due to having the extra time. Men don't tend to give birth.

Women don't have the respect they received in 1880, much less 1980.

For the same work and efforts women are discriminated at lower pay ranges then are men in the same categories.
