I'm going to D.C. in mid-November and I was just wondering, what should I see? Any can't miss tourist spots? Any great restaurants? Any other tips? Any kind of suggestions, would be great! Please let me know. Thanks!

You definitely must see the Smithsonian, even if you don't think museums are of much interest to you. The Vietnam Memorial, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial are all great to visit, too.

As for restaurants, go to the ones that aren't chains. There are lots of really great independently owned restaurants in D.C.

Walk by the White House if you can! Even though you can't really see anything at all, it's still cool to know that you're walking right across the street from the White House.

The FDR and Lincoln Memorial at night are beautiful (and in walking distance and fairly safe); Bis at the Hotel George on Capitol Hill not far from Union Station for an expensive dinner; Las Placitas on 8th St Capitol Hill for an awesome Salvadorian super inexpensive meal (it's a dive, but everyone goes there).

hey there i work in d.c. so i know the city pretty well. if you like the nite club scene you should go to The 18 th street lounge, its owned by the guys from thievery corporation. Also try the 9:30 club. Union Station is a good place to shop and get a maybe a bite to eat ,but in my view chinatown is a good place to get good food at a decent price one place in mind is wok n' roll. Also vist the musems at the mall

the monument is one, go on the sightseeing tour bus, the Lincoln memorial, and the American history museum as a matter of fact all the museums are good also go to the Vietnam vet wall. i good option is to ride the number 70 bus from one end of the line to the other that's a good sight seeing tour.
