Find something to do that the two of your would enjoy (do you often see movies together?). Or get her something that has some significance to the two of you (collage of photos? friendship bracelets?). In short, her position makes her no different to any of your other friends - she obviously still likes you for you so don't feel that you have to impress her by getting her something over the top.

Tell her to get you something she knows you like, rather than something is general and/or expensive. Like maybe something you collect. Or a game you enjoy. Or Movie. Or cd, etc.
I like whenever people make me gifts and cards, so you know they put more thought into it- rather than going to Wal-Mart or someplace and picking up the first thing that they see.
