Love is not how you feel about the other person rather it is how that person makes you feel about yourself.
One can and usually does love and lust at the same time. Love is a feeling, lust is a wanting. But they do go together. But not always, sometimes a wanting to have sex with someone is said to be lust and it is. But then don't most people want to have sex with the one they love?

Well, as I like to say, there's nothing such as love at first sight. Love, according to the Bible, consists of:
1 Co 13:4 " Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head,
1Co 13:5 Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
1Co 13:6 Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
1Co 13:7 Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.
1Co 13:8 Love never dies."
(from 1 Corinthians 13)
You simply cannot (no matter how many disney princess movies you watch) have that kind of love in a moment. I know couples who've been married for over 15 years, and still developing that kind of love.
However, I will edit my first statement. There IS such a thing as lust at first sight. ;)

Love is something you feel deep w/in your soul, being and intermost depths. You would die for that person. Lust is a fleeting feeling that offers immediate satisfaction but then you feel shame and grief afterwards. Love is something that you definately want to pursue. Lust is not. Lust will leave you feeling empty afterwards.

Love considers the needs and wants, and desires, of The Other (before, or in addition to, one's own).
Lust considers only the desires (and gratification of same) of The Self.
Love is the experience, and delight in, the other person.
Lust is the experience, and search for satisfaction, of one's own desires only.
Love is physical, spiritual, and social.
Lust is physical only.

Love has more avenues from which to be administered, while lust is disbursed mainly sexually, with only gratification as its reward.
Love typically last longer than lust.

Lust is wanting to jump someone's bones with no regard for the outcome. Love is wanting to be with someone no matter what shape their bones are in.
