As I was going through a divorce my IDs were taken I was in the process of obtaining new ones, and had a temporary Drivers I.D. with an app. to retake the test. He also tried to shut off all utilities, DP&L shut off my service (the others did not) without any notice while I was at work. They then wanted 130. deposit to switch it in my name, but refused my I.D. It was a day later and I had to have it revoked for a state Id, they then said they would turn it on the next day, I called back with a Western Union for 130.00 and they then said were under a heat advisory and would turn it on Mon. I called Pcu and they made them turn it on Fri. night. 3 days later.I lost over 1,000. dollars from this and then they credited the deposit to my husbands business partner. have tried to resolve the deposit amount but they won't, think I have grounds for legal action but I don't know what to do. I can't afford an Attorney, I did keep all paper work on all of this.

The Public Utilities Commission has clear written rules to notifiy people before turning off services, 4901:1-10, it was turned off because of lack of payment. Nothing is impossible, I didn't do anything wrong.

Check on the rules for small claims court. That is the best venue for a dispute like this. Half the time you may win by default.

Small claims court is the only thing available to you unless you hire a lawyer. You never stated how you lost 1,000.00 dollars so being able to tell if you have a case is impossible.
