I'd throw out feelings of guilt, which I've been hoarding for most of my life...I even have some given to me by my mother.

First I would throw out my sex drive because it gets me into so much trouble,

then I would throw out my sexual abuse that haunts my dreams every night.....

Then I would clean my conscience so that I could hurt the world without ever having to say "Im sorry!"

I HAVE thrown them out...they were hate and envy.

I realized that my hating someone was only hurting myself, because I was the one suffering from the high blood pressure, and the acid stomach. The other person didn't suffer in the slightest from my hate. So I threw hate away as a useless emotion.

And envy is something you do when you covet something another person has. Coveting someone else's property when they have more than me is a self-destructive emotion. No one person is ever going to have everything they want, but I decided that coveting someone else's property only led to being dissatisfied with what I had. So I threw envy out the window as well, and now I work hard for everything that I have, and I decide just what that is going to be.

An analogy........
To an adult Human emotions could be considered to be an array of tools for use by the soul, and guess who is in charge of theses tools ,...You are

Firstly indentify which one you wish to use (be sure it's the right one )and keep it / them under your control at all times ,know which one to use with any given situation and of course which ones are inappropriate and maybe damaging to the user or recipient.....and yes some tools can be outdated for particular user and might well be discarded

Sometimes when we let these tools run away from us that life's trouble start ...
You say given to you by your mother ....knowing what you know now ...who said you had to accept.....
No one ...makes us do /accept anything with out our permission
.
It all begins with knowing ones self

fear of "letting go and letting God"......already thrown out guilt of feeling as if I need to take care of the world when my own life was unmanageable!! I find I get closer to total submission and trust....then, a BIGGIE comes along and I take it all back relying more on myself than God.
Good question.........I think you read that little booklet that i read???? haven't thought about it in a while...need to!!

I'm kind of like a pit bull, so I guess I'd get rid of all that anger.

yes..guilt is a good one to throw out, also jealousy, anger, grudges. all of these feelings suck the energy out of us and defeat us.
