In general "score" is going to be the actual written music for a motion picture. If your recording says "Original Score" it indicates that the music is as it was performed in the picture as opposed to a new or different "arrangement" of the music. "Soundtrack" usually means the music as it sounds in the movie without acting dialog. Soundtracks are usually one of the last things added to the picture after all cuts and edits are made.

The soundtrack is all of the music played in the background of the picture, usually in the order of it's occurence in the movie, gleaned from the popular music of the day or golden oldies or whatever. The score is music written specifically for that movie alone, and not to be used in any other.

The link above is for the soundtrack of Iron Eagle. You may want to buy the album.

I think a SCORE is music written specially for the movie , while a soundtrack can contain music or non-music in the background, usually written and performen by others for other reasons , originally .

ive seen it used a couple ways.... score is usually literally the music as it appears in the movie, where a soundtrack is music that may have had a clip in the movie or even just inspired by the movie.
