I'm in college and in serious need to study. Ideally, I should be studying most of the time, with maybe 1.5 hours for 'playing' on a weekday. I have a long-term boyfriend and we have lots of fun 'playing' together, like cuddling or watching a movie or playing guitar and singing, etc... or other things... there's just so much to do together! How can I take my mind off him and allocate more time to study? My grades are hurting... What should I DO?? Please help...

Been there...done that. My husband and I were high school sweethearts and in college it was so hard to focus. What we came up with was a homework time and then a super special weekend event. For example on Mon., Weds., and Fri. (those were when I had most of my classes) he was not allowed to spend the night or hang out at my place unless all my homework was done. If we both stuck to the deal and we had HONESTLY completed all of our work we would take a drive to see the ocean or visit a nearby town. That way while we worked hard we had something fun to look forward to.

We also made a master calendar in each of our apartments where we posted all of our assignments so that we could help remind each other of important projects. Plus we NEVER studied together because that never happened. I hope this helps.

I've been going through something similar. Just set yourself straight. Tell yourself that what you really want is to get good grades. Tell your boyfriend that you really need to work right now. He'll understand. Then, just forget everything else. Keep yourself focused. Once you start try really hard not to think about anything else. If you want to stay in contact with your boyfriend, email him. Don't talk on the phone or chat online. Email is a lot less time consuming. Email him every hour or so despite his schedule.

Well first of all, you should be married before "playing" otherwise if you get pregnant bye "playing" he might leave you then there's no way you can finish school. Second you should talk to him about how you feel if he respects you enough he'll understand and give you some room. Plus shouldn't he be focused on the same things as you if your both in College?

you need to be tough on yourself, put your foot down, and admit that although you enjoy spending lots of time with him, you can't anymore. you have to choose which is more important-- your grades, or spending a few extra hours with your boyfriend throughout the week. maybe he can help also by reminding you to work instead of coming over and hanging out. come up with a schedule and plan out when and what you're going to do at each hour of the week and try to stick to it. that should help.

Extremely common. Easy to solve as long as you're up for the challenge. Plan some great date ideas together and let each other know that each time you finish a deadline, you go on one of your dates. Add surprises...builds curiousity...makes it worth it.

If you're in college as you say, you should be smart enough to know what to do, and not be relying on other people to tell you what you should do. I think the first thing you need to do is to GROW UP!

make him study with you. before he comes over, make up flashcards or something and he can quiz you. then after you get them all right, you can do it a bunch of times! or you can play a stripping game for every question you get right.
