This is totally ghetto....but what I use is cereal boxes....I'll cut them down to size and since I always have a "new" one coming I don't have to worry if they get beat up. But if you're concerned with how your craft room looks, I'd use a file cabinet. Not very unique, but very handy.
Good luck,
Ang

Cropper Hopper makes a 12 x 12 storage system that sits upright on your shelvesThey look like 12 x 12 magazine holders. You can get the dividers and smaller folders that go in them to organize paper. I have found them at oriental trading company as well as michaels. If you get the sunday paper and get a 40 or 50% coupon they come out to be really reasonablely priced.
Also some ladies were talking about using pizza boxes. If you can find where to purchase them online (I have yet to find them)
Also chekc www.twopeasinabucket.com there are a lot of people on there that have great pictures and ideas.

Creative:
I bought a cheap 12x12 scrapbook to keep all my papers in. The original white papers were removed and kept to replace a mess-up, etc. Then I put in all my scrapbooking papers, allowing easy viewing and - important - protection. Works for me!
Classic:
There's something called a Scrapper-Saver, I think - it's a plastic accordion-like file big enough to hold complete pages with pockets for scraps as well. It's fairly cheap in Michaels, and doesn't take up a lot of storage space (hey, that's important, too!)

I love the 12x12 plastic craft keepers found at Walmart. Especially great since my home gets very dusty (if it didnt I would love metal racks like the ones at Michaels so I could see all my paper at a glance) I have about 6 of them seperating them into plain colors, then holidays and fancy backgrounds. I then store these upright in a 2.00 magazine holder also found at Walmart. Easy to grab and because they are clear can see the colors without much digging.

I use a combination of things. I do use a portable file box and label things like "Christmas", "Birthday", etc. Then, you can also put boxes on the wall...... like you might have in an office, and color code the different kinds of paper, and sizes. I also use clear plastic drawers for scrap papers, of tissue paper, etc. You can find long shallow drawers for stuff like that then you don't end up with a bunch of other junk in that drawer on top of your paper. Hope that helps!

I figure a portable filing container would be a great
way to store your paper this way you can label the
catagories to your theme, like birthday, holiday etc.
Rather than the numbers or the alphabet.
Have a nice photo box to hold your supplies and
this way you don't have to search for any of your
supplies and find it quicker. Have fun with your
scrapbooking.

I love my scraprack! I keep all of my personal 12x12 paper in it.
I keep all of my 12x12 store paper in craft keepers, they are the clear plastic envelopes that have the string clasp on them. They stand up in the cupboard very nicely and can hold up to 250 sheets of paper :)

There are page protectors that go inside a 3 ring binder that are made for stickers. they have compartments in different sizes to put in stickers and die cuts. The 3 ring binder I have is from crop and style - it zips closed and has a handle on the spine.
