Is my memory correct in the values of KB's and MB's? Its been about 5-6 years since I have even thought about it. If this is correct, then how long should it take to download a 100MB file at an average of 20kb per second? Or are there other factors to consider? What is the norm for the minimum download speed for your cable internet connection, if that is what you use? If not, how do you connect to the internet and what is your average speed?

Sorry, 1MB=1,086,00. I knew I should have used commas to seperate zero's!!

1MB=1,086,000 = 1,000kb. Comma's did not help either.

1 KB=2^10=1024 bytes. 1MB =2^20=1048576 bytes. At 20KB/sec it would take about 5000 sec or about 1 1/2 hours to download.

1kb = 1024 bytes
1 mb = 102400 bytes

comcast 3 mb plan - 3000kbps/8 = 375 KB/s
comcast 6 mb plan - 6000kbps/8 = 750 KB/s
comcast with powerboost 15-30mb - 15000/8 = 1875KB/s
30000/8 = 3750KB/s

100MB/ 375KB/s
102,400/ 375 = 273 secs = 4.5 min

100MB /750KB/s = 2.25 min

note u must have 6 mb plan and ask to get powerboost and it doesnt really help your upload
