NOT technically.
It's an eligibility limit.
May not have exceeded 5 years of college play.
Now...if you don't have the physical capabilities to keep up with the young kids...you may find yourself not playing.
When I played for Cal...we had a 54 year old man on the team.
When I coached for Penn, we had a 34 year old former Minnesota Vikings player who wanted to play the last of his eligibility.
Theres also the semi-pros - alot of college players go there if they don't get picked up for pros.

There is no age limit. The only requirements are:
Have never played professionally
Are enrolled or just graduated with one year left of eligibilty
You are limited to five years, assuming one year you are red-shirted
Take for example Chris Wienke
He was drafted to play baseball right out of high-school, so he took it and played in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system for a few years. Then he quit baseball, and attended Florida State. He was the starting QB there at age 27. I'm not sure how old he was when he went to FSU, but he did play for 4 years, until he was drafted by Carolina.

No, it only matters if you have eligibility left. Which I believe now only applies to each sport.
So for example, if you played professional baseball but only were enrolled in school for like 3 years, you would still have 1 year of eligibility left for football or some other sport. But since you played pro baseball, you'd have none left for that.

Not for division 2. In division 1 you have a clock that begins once you graduate high school. You have 10 semester...counting a red shirt year.
