I have this same problem, but with straight people. I just don't understand it. Just doesn't make any sense. Why would a man want to have sex with a woman and a woman want to have sex with a man? If anyone wants to have children, they can adopt or go to the sperm bank. There's no need for heterosexual sex. It's unnatural.

'If a man lies with a female, as with a man, both of
them have committed an abomination: they shall surely
be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

If you didn't detect the sarcasm above, then you really are stupid.

We can't either. Gay people like us have diverse personalities and preferences just like straight people. Don't waste your time trying to understand us because, until you have an open mind and a genuine love for people, you won't succeed. Try understanding who you are first. Perhaps then, you will be able to understand us. But for the meantime, you should know that gay bashing is a normal reaction for people who don't understand gays but on the other hand, there's also this thing called RESPECT. It's up to you to decide what to choose :)

markin gomez has the greatest points there. why don't you try to learn something for a change!

"I don't understand gays"
"Oh gee, what do gays look, sound, smell, think like?"
"Does gay people really like to be all that sexually deprieved?"

snf do the list goes on with sheer stupidity.

You don't understand gay people?
As Bill Engvall would say, "Here's your sign!"

If you want to understand, try clearing your head and take in some wisdom and learnings. that way you can ACTUALLY understand everything you need to know!

We (Gays and Lesbians) are not really as different from the rest of society as one may assume they are. We have been labelled, we have had to fight for acceptance, and are fighting yet, for the right to marry and adopt children. Do you really know about us, or do you just think you do and catch our attention? Gee, iam so sorry for that.

anyways..

Learn that just because someone is gay or a lesbian, we may not be much different from those who are heterosexual. We have dreams and goals, and want to be happy and lead productive lives.

Understand that gays and lesbians work as mechanics or bar bouncers, as well as nurses, or florists. Not all wear short hair, or trousers, and not all know how to cook.
Realize that not everyone is obvious in appearance or actions, or chooses to live an open lifestyle. Some might be employed as a waiter, or fireman, as well as a drag queen.
Accept the fact that the ability to love, care or desire is not just for straight society but for everyone. We all have our "types" or attractions, very much similar to heterosexuals. No one makes themselves gay nor do they choose to be that way.
Call a guy a 'queen', or a woman a 'dyke' might sound likd fun, but realize that it is insulting to the homosexual.

Straight guys don't have to act nervous around gay guys because being gay is not catching.
Gay men are not child molesters by nature.
Treat the gay community as you would the heterosexual community.
Gays and lesbians are all over the world in every country and do all types of jobs out there.
If you meet a person at work, who you suspect might be gay, don't ask them. Accept them as you would any of the other workers, and befriend them equally. If they wish to disclose their sexual preference, they will, but do not ask.
Live and let live, whether you accept the idea of this lifestyle or not. Allow people to live their own lives as you do.
Some people want to have a civil union/committment ceremony or an actual LEGAL marriage. They should have the same right to marriage as heterosexuals, and in several countries they already do. Freedoms should be the same for all.
Gay people didn't choose to be gay and can't "make" themselves straight, just as straight people didn't choose to feel attracted towards the opposite sex.

Here is a bit of Warnings:
Never preach or use the Bible to make us feel that we are evil, or untouchable. Remember, we are the same as everyone else. The only thing that makes us different is the fact that we love the same sex instead of the opposite sex. We bleed the same, and feel emotions the same.

Hope i make sense.

Ok what's not to understand? We are human beings-we eat,breathe,sleep,work,etc.... Like everyone else! We just happen to love a person of the same gender-no big deal!

You don't have to understand anyone you're afraid of.
You'll be OK.
What doesn't make sense to me is that I just don't understand people who think about someone else's sexual appetites.
That's weird, ya' think?

Love is blind. It does not care what love looks like just only that it feels love. We in essence are not our bodies. Our bodies did not exist before we were born, nor will it continue to exist after we die, however, our souls was never born, nor never dies. It is always eternal and genderless. To love someone regardless of what they look like on the outside, is to love someone for their soul. We are in essence spiritual beings residing in a human body. To get it, is to start looking at people for who they are inside rather than externally.
