We've been getting larger. Several years ago, the body of a man from around the ice age was found near Italy or somewhere in Europe. He was an adult and was only 5'2". Do some research and I'm sure you'll find that people were smaller than they are now. A while back, I toured a plantation home and there was clothing on display that was actually worn by the owner and his wife. These people were very petite. I think it has something to do with modern food and nutrition and its availability that people are bigger in size than our ancestors.

Humans are getting fatter due to declining nutrition. Some are getting so large we're probably going to have to launch them into orbit.
