The World Series is the championship series of Major League Baseball and the culmination of the sport's postseason each October.
The World Series is played between the American League and National League champions. The Series winner is determined through a best-of-seven playoff (except in 1903, 1919, 1920 and 1921 when the winner was determined through a best-of-nine playoff) and is awarded the World Series Trophy, as well as World Series rings. Baseball has employed various championship formulas since the 1850s. The modern World Series has been an annual event since 1903, with the exceptions of 1904 and 1994
The term "World Series" (short for "World's Championship Series") was first used in the 1880s, when baseball existed at a highly-skilled level only in the USA and international travel was rare. The traditional term "World Series" continues to be used for the Major League Baseball championship.

The "sequence" area comes from the video games of all of it coming in a row. The great Bowl, for occasion, is barely one interest, however the international sequence has 4-7 video games in a row in the previous the actual winner is desperate. yet then there is the "international" area. yet, in the previous I start up on that, baseball isn't an all American opposition- the Toronto Blue Jays are a team, and the Montreal Expos was once a team. (those are cities in Canada, not the U.S.) in any case, it somewhat is talked approximately as the international sequence through fact there is not yet another united states of america in the international that takes baseball as heavily as usa, for this reason it is authorized to be talked approximately as the international sequence. (Japan and a few worldwide places in South usa play baseball besides, besides the undeniable fact that it somewhat is nowhere close to as customary because it is in the U.S.)

I do believe when we started the fall classic, we Americans were the only ones playing baseball in the whole world. Now the term World Series is a misnomer.

Because it is argued that although only 2 'countries' have teams in the competetion, the best players in the world play for the MLB. Fore example, the best players in Cuba, don't just stay in Cuba, they join an american team to compete against the best. They play for their countris in the Olympics and Baseball Classic.

when they coined the phrase world series, MLB was the only professional baseball league in the world so they thought the phrase was acceptable. the name has continue for the sake of tradition however there are several professional leagues around the world that don't participate under MLB.
