As was mentioned sloth is one of the 7 "deadly" sins. Why I believe it to be a "sin" is that it causes a loss of potential. A loss of personal growth, a loss of community involvement/growth. A loss of giving, a loss of taking. It's "sinful" (hurtful) in that it serves only to diminish the potential that "you" will be a human. . .fully alive.

sloth is one of the tradition 7 DEADLY SINS. This is because you waste your time and talents away. You are not achieving your purpose for being here.

I think it is "the" sin, because sloth means you have no reason for being, nothing that drives you to excel, nothing that fires you go that one step further.

yes, it is. in the real world, if you're lazy it just dumps more work on the next person. do you want to spend the rest of you life with someone else picking up your slack?

It is laziness so yea I think so. And why? because when you are lazy you neglect other things in your life, like your family, finances, religion or worship, work... so on and so forth. You forget what its like to live when you get too lazy...
