I immigrated to Europe from the US (as record numbers are now doing), it's been over 20 years and having been back twice I think the things my father loved when he immigrated to the States 40 years ago like a large proportion of people having open minds and tolerant attitudes seem more evident in quite a few other countries now than the US.
