I have some kind of malware or virus that closes antivirus programs I try to open and will close IE if I do an internet search containing the word "virus". It also closes my Microsoft Works program and word files. However, my AdawareSE seems to work fine, but when I run that it will not fix whatever is causing this problem, how can I get computer back to normal?

First of all, all your virus scan should be done OFFLINE, and in SAFE MODE

Get HiJackThis 1.99.1

Most online scanner only tell you what they found, but they don't disinfect it unless you buy their acutal product.

So I suggest you try download trial like ewido and do a scan offline.

Make sure virus/malware/spyware protection is up to date. Run scans on computer. Malware scanner should pick up the antivirus 2010 accurance and erradicate. Protection must be 100% up to date. If anti-malware dr. still cant detect. Find another malware remover.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus and protect your PC. but you need to pay for the software

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Boot with you anti-virus disk. They usually allow you to boot on it, therefore bypassing the OS.

This way, it will boot in a mode where you can scan some of your drives. Note that protected drives (e.g. NTFS volumes) may not be accessible.
