What are some reasons magazines should be more careful at using extra small models...and saying they are just?

too beautiful, and creating teens to go anorexia and so on! I do not want ur opinion, i just want to know reasons that magazines SHOULD NOT use negative influences

I don't need to know why they use thin models....i need 2 know why they shouldn't use thin (anorexic-seeming) models

Magazines use thin models because the designer clothes samples that are sent to the photo shootings are made to fit one size, and that size is usually very small. It is a matter of convenience for the designer and the stylist. The model is just a "hanger" used to display what they want to show and sell.
It is all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
magazines shouldn't but they go on using girls that look sick to model the latest fashions.

let me rephrase for you: they shouldn't use extra small models because they are a bad example for teenage girls that are easily impressed and confused by what they see. They confuse being pretty and fashionable with being sickly thin.

That's a good question. The main problem with the usage of emaciated models in magazines and on the runway, is that it sets an unrealistic ideal for the rest of society. We then create a standard which the majority of young women can't (and shouldn't) meet. Using emaciated models leads to more young women developing a poor body image, and lower self-esteem.

Luckily, Madrid and London have recently banned ultra-thin models from walking the runway. Hopefully other countries will follow. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/09/13/spain.models/index.html

youve answered the question yourself. if a young girl sees a skinny girl that is supposedly "cute" then they will try anything if thats how they want to look: diet pills, over exercising, starving theirselves. even though u dont want my opinion i think its very unsexy to look like a skeleton covered with skin
