There wouldn't be any. We'd just be here for the simple purpose of life and death, to procreate and die, and this would be the most shallow concept of living, anything lower cannot be achieved. Love exists for the elementary purpose to give life meaning, to give us, as individuals, an intrinsic understanding as to why we're here, why we let ourselves hurt so much with the trivialities and unfairness that life sometimes dumps upon our shoulders with a lot of the time no reason at all. Love exists so when we're on our dying beds we can look back and say that all that pain was worth while, to look back and see the moments that love created in our lives and permanently stamped in our minds, to look back and say 'it was all worth it'. So again the answer is simple, there would be none. In fact it would even be hard to imagine a life without it, it would be impossible, it would be like trying to breath while under water, we'd all eventually drown because it just wasn't MEANT to be.

I didn't know the purpose of life was love. Some people are happy being alone and I think they might answer your question the same way we do now. The purpose of life is and always will be what you make of it.

The word what if can be very powerful. Love existed first and the same with hate. The order of chaos. What is love? God is love and love is God.

Do you think the bee, ant or termite feel what you call love? In our hubris, should we say that their lives have no purpose?Love is not the purpose of life; it is the effect of life of purpose.

Without love, this world wouldn't be a world. We would not care about anything if we didn't love. Love is the root of all things. Yes, even hate. Without love, there is no hate. Without love, there is no care, no guilt, no will, no way, no sympathy, no happiness, no nothing. Without love, nobody would care to love and nobody would care to hate. We would mearly be existing to die and that's about it.
