I think the last big name to switch from open wheel cars to stock cars is doing pretty well. I expect the same from Montoya.

Alright, he is aggressive, arrogant, fast, knows how to drive a 4 wheel object with brakes, he is competitive, has talent, has the money behind him, is hard-headed (good and bad here) has a team willing to support him, and has been around the racing world for many, many years now.
With all that said, why wouldn't he succeed in NASCAR? We are not talking F18 fighters vs. motorcycles. These are still cars, very different cars I agree, but after a bit of adjustment he will do just fine. Can he win a NASCAR championship? Too early to say. He has the genetic make-up to do it. Let's see how he progresses. He will do well, though (but give him time to adjust!!!!!).

I think he will probably run around mid pack next year because he is still learning the cars/driving style of nascar and because ganassi doesn't seem to have a great car this year. Then I think he will come into his own as the season goes on and will probably be better near the end of the season and going into next season. He just ran a test in ARCA series cars at talladega and set a lap time that would have qualified him 6th in the arca race whihc is impressive for someone who has little experience in stock cars. Although the arca series is a few steps below nextel cup.

I think Juan will be competitive. He won't be contending for wins for even the Top 10 for a while, but I think he will catch on. He isn't going to set the world on fire. One of his biggest disadvantages is his age. As far as learning to adjust to these heavier stock cars, the younger guys have an advantage because they don't have the years of experience in other cars. Juan isn't old by definition, but he has spent a lot of time in other types of cars.
It will be interesting to see his progress, that's for sure.

i'm no longer often prepared on NASCAR, yet i'm prepared on F1... yet only because the flexibility set needed for most NASCAR races is diverse than usual in maximum F1 races would not advise that the drivers are one way or the different lesser. it really is a diverse experience with diverse criteria for success. at the same time as it really is all suggested and done, a number of the drivers in NASCAR ought to likely be consdiered between the suitable contained in the international at the same time as others would fall short of this. an identical would nicely be suggested of practically any professional sequence. the actual shown reality that NASCAR chooses to marketplace itself with a slogan isn't something except promotion and marketing... different sequence have had similar promotion and marketing comments to boot. Juan Pablo Montoya changed into between the added gifted drivers in F1. His skills at the same time as traction changed into no longer suitable (chilly tires, rain, and so on) and his sense for installation and making a bypass in a number of the most unbelievable spots confirmed each and each of the marks of the finished drivers. His lack of ability to really paintings at the same time with his engineers and get the most from his motor vehicle and crew saved him from accomplishing the point of being a conceivable winner per week and in championship rivalry on the top of the three hundred and sixty 5 days! He keen to leave F1 at the same time as it grew to change into clean there will be no seat provided from a crew which will be aggressive. i'm satisfied he landed nicely. As for why would someone like NASCAR? Why would someone like F1? Or WRC? there are certain elements to that competition it somewhat is captivating. some human beings love baseball yet no longer football, and so on and so on. because NASCAR isn't someone's particualr flavor would not advise it really is valueless or stupid, it only skill it really isn't any longer their flavor.

When he gets use to the stock cars he might but he probably should go to a different team to be competitive because Ganassi don't have the equipment to compete with the other teams.

switching from open wheel cars, to stock cars is a big change. He may not do so well in His first season but yes, I think He will eventually be o.k.
He has the advantage of working with an owner that is familiar with Him, a big advantage in setting up the car.

In F1 he did a lot of mistakes in slow corners, I don't know much about Nascar but I think that Nascar doesn't have a lot of slow corners, so I think he will do well !!!!
