Probably more under the learned category. However, it wouldn't surprise me if genetics also played a part in some or all of the people who tend to be submissive. Good Luck ! :)

i think it partly comes from their childhood. i had a very unstable, broken childhood, but while my personality isn't submissive, i do have other traits in my personality that come from my childhood. i.e. i didn't grow up with a father figure and my mom was very lenient, so i dont like it when i dont get my way now ( im 21) although i am working on it and getting better, i think alot of your personality developes throughout your childhood and experiences shape it a lot. i do think some traits can be genetic AND learned. with having a personality that i dont like, i do try to change a lot of it, and with the right mentality, you can change your personality.

Mostly learned. I would guestimate 30% genetic and 70% learned.

Both. Some people are born this way, others are nurtured. Just like some people are born more hyperactive, while others are more calm. But those can be learned as well.

There's really no real way to prove either side, but most believe that it's learned via the environment of early childhood.
