I really feel that the foster care system is screwed up and that the social workers don't do their jobs correctly. I use to be in foster care so I know about just how corupt the foster care system. I wanted to know how you all feel about this situation especially on the foster care system deciding to put children with same sex couples. I feel real angry everytime I turn on the news or read about a child getting abuse sexually or physically and I was also angry about those boys in Jersey that was straved so bad that they don't even look their age what a shame. Don't you know every child in the system is a big paycheck in someone's pocket. What happen to the time when the ACS mission was to protect children but instead they take children out to bad homes at times and other's not so bad homes it just had a bad person living there and they put these children into worst homes than what they came out of. Taken out of one situation and put into a worst situation it never fails with ACS.

I feel the same way! A couple of my friends are in foster care, and they have been sexually abused, and I clearly don't believe in that stuff. I would suggest they get someone that cares about these children in need. It is screwed up, and if I could I would do something about this. I would also suggest you stand up about what you feel strongly about! For example maybe you could write a detailed letter about your beliefs, and cares for these children that need our help!!!! Plz if you do want to help, join me at helping these children, as I am going to do something about this situation to! All of us can help, and maybe only 4 people can make a difference, and people need to care more about the world then themselves. No more World War 3 attack of the cruel world! I hope I could help!

yes i seen an awful show on the news where the foster parents were beating the children and starving them and no one ever knew about it till the kids were grown because the people that were supposed to check in periodically never did there job....they say this happens a lot more than we realize. Poor Kids!! They have been thry enough already if they are already in a foster home and then have to go thru more torcher, it is very heartbreaking!!!
I totally agree with you, sometimes they were better off where they were, but we have to remember there are the good foster parents too!! The system just needs to figure out a way to keep an eye on all of them that way they can weed out the bad ones and keep the good ones!!

Yes and know. We hear horror stories all the time on the news...but I have a great friend who lives in Central Missouri. He and his wife have cared for 40+ foster children and ended up adopting 2 of them to live with their natural children. And these people pour their heart and soul into these children.
You know there a good and bad exceptions to everything. For every bad foster family, I would like to believe there are so many more good ones.

You raise two points 1, Foster care is screwed up, because of governments dropping institutional care it left them at mercy of anyone with clean background check.
2. The question of same sex couples is interesting. Let's hope majority of children are place with same sex couples that act like straight couples when expressing physical attraction they have for one another. In time seeing how much of an role environment plays toward one sexual orientation will answer some questions on this matter.

It is over burdened and screwed uip. Prospective foster families are not checked thoroughly enough, case workers have too many cases, etc. Of course, it begins with irresponsible or screwed up parents, so let's educate people.

i agree--people say there is no such thing as evil---the foster care system needs to be over-hauled--and restructured-right now the system is set up to help the people abusing the system and the foster kids that are there for *protection-----my husband produces specials for tv about system abuse--------

I will pray that you get the help you need to learn to live with your pain. The system is in serious need of reorgonization .We need to ensure the health and safety of the defenseless.

No, I think that them giving children to bad parents is stupid and they should be punished for doing so.
