Why is it when you put eye liner on your mouth hangs open?

To stretch out our faces! It makes for a much smoother line. LOL. Also... its just a silly habit.

Ha! I do that - I always catch myself looking like a total moron and laugh. My boyfriend teases me about it too, he'll stand next to me and mimick my open-mouthed idiot face. Really I do it to stretch the skin out to get a smoother line - if I don't do it my eyeliner pencil catches on the skin and the line ends up bumpy. It is funny though...

It relaxes the face and keeps your eye from twitching or messing up the make up. If you try to apply eyeliner while closing the mouth, you'll find it more difficult to apply.

You know I dont know the answer to that but I can tell you that doesnt happen to me. It only happens when I put mascara on not eyeliner. U know now u made me wonder?!?!? Thanx! I am goin 2 check it out.

Thats a myth, it says thats its proven that women cant put on eye liner or mascara witout your mouth hanging open...mine doesnt gape open so idk about these mystery women who cant keep these mouths shut lol...

it actually does make a smoother line like someone else said-its also a habit too- like mine just naturally hangs open...i dont really do it on purpose
