When I see programs on tv, I'm never sure when to set the recorder to record...

No, Puerto rico is an hour ahead of NY(eastern time) its in atlantic time.

Right now its 8:15 PM in New york and in puerto rico its 8:15 PM.

But since, Puerto rico doesnt follow daylight savings times, they will be an hour ahead of Eastern in a few weeks.

If you look at a map you will notice that Puerto Rico is on the East Coast, that means that its Eastern time.!!

Puerto rico is eastern daylight time right now or eastern standard time; since it is on the east coast closer to the atlantic ocean.

No it is in the Atlantic Standard time zone but does not have daylight savings so it happens to match Eastern daylight savings right now.
