my calculator broke. I have a TI 83 and when i turn it on it is just a black screen. Ive tried to change the thing where you hit second and then move the broghtness up or down. I even tried reseting every back to defaults. I need to know because calculus and chemistry homework is impossible to do with out it.

new batteries
reset "button" on the back
if doing both of these doesn't resurrect the calculator

afraid it's a new calculator...

technically, not impossible
but really time consuming
those of us that didn't have calculators or computers managed somehow to get through .....time, however, is a factor...
good luck....pray to the great god "Casio" and sacrifice a AAA battery on the altar [calc book]

Try changing the batteries
The manual might also have some good information in it.
