Johnny Quest, the son of Dr. Benton Quest. His mom (who was blonde) had died in a tragic accident when he was a young child.
On an adventure to India, a young street urchin street performer/magician, Hadji helped Johnny escape from some kidnappers. As a result he was adopted by Dr. Quest.
Race Bannon was a former secret operative for the Government, (as in super spy), he was convinced, against his better judgement to act as a bodyguard for Dr. Quest. They became friends and he became a mentor for Johnny and later Hadji.
Dr. Quest was rich, due to his numerous patents, all designed to better the world, also he was acting as a direct expert to the President and the Pentagon.
He was considered an expert in nine distinct fields, including Biology, Archeology, Nuclear Energy, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Molecular Biology and Designing aircraft and submersibles. A combination of Einstein and Leonardo De Vinci and considered the smartest man on the planet.
Interestingly enough, he had- based on episodes, three different former teachers/mentors who he worked on a Doctorate with- in three distinct fields, implying he had at least a triple doctorate.
Nifty show all told.
Forgot Bandit- who Johnny and Hadji found as a stray and kept. (The dog barked way too much.)

Heck, yes! Johnny and his friend, Hadji (or however it's spelled) and his genius father, Quentin, right? The dog was Bandit, right? And Dr. Quest had some blonde guy as an assistant. Loved the show as a kid.

Yes, and in the 80's, there was a Johnny Quest comic book. I remember him, and Eighth Man, and Gigantor, and Space Ghost! (Not to mention Speed Racer!)
