If you wait until you are starving to eat, then the food will act as a depressent. You should eat when you get hungry, not starving. You won't feel as sleepy after you eat. And don't eat too much either. That will always make you sleepy.

I think its because most of the blood within your body has gone to digesting your food. So these lesser blood elsewhere.
I dont eat too much in the afternoon cos if I do, I will get sleepy especially when I need to work.

Watch what you are eating, if too many carbs or just over eating will certainly cause fatigue. Eat more veggies or fruit to get your vitamins and stay away from foods that have a lot of sugars in them, that can also bring your energy level to fast drop.

When you eat, your body sends additional blood to your digestive system. One of the places the blood comes from is your head. Thats why you shouldn't eat very much before an interview, test, or poker game. : )
